Nigerianische Staatsbürgerschaft, Studium in Belgien: Gründung in Deutschland?

Frage

I am writing you to get information on how to start a business as a self-entrepreneur in Germany. I am a citizen of Nigeria. I am living in Belgium and currently in my final year as a student studying for my masters degree in Aquaculture (Faculty of Bio-Engineering). I will graduate this year. After graduating I want to start a food-trading-business, by supplying African foods to shops and supermarkets in Germany. I mean well packaged and customized African foods and fruits meeting the HACCP-standards and hygienic for consumption. I would like to know how to get started: Where to register my company? If there is a business-bank to use? Is there a specific amount i need to deposit (as a self-entrepreneur)? How t get a business registration number? Can I be funded (a start-up-loan) or (Government funding)? Which insurances are to use? How to get a professional card? I would like you to know, that I have experience in food business and I did a lot of courses on food management, business management, trading, food processing and safety measures, food diseases, european laws on food etc. I would also like you to know, that I have a resident card in Belgium, that is valid for 1 year, It will expire by October 2013. Is it possible I renew it in Germany as a self-entrepreneur?

Antwort

In general, any entrepreneur who wishes to start a business in Germany may do so, irrespective of nationality or place of residence. There is no specific investment legislation in Germany, nor is there a minimum percentage of German shareholdings required for foreign investments within Germany.

However, non-EU citizens will have to make sure to have the appropriate type of visa. Generally, visas are obtained in the investor\'s home country at a German embassy or consulate. Decisive for the appropriate type of visa are the length and purpose of the stay in Germany. Depending on the intended business activities in Germany, different types of visas are relevant to entrepreneurs. For further visa-related information, please visit the Federal Foreign Office\'s website at www.auswaertiges-amt.de/EN/EinreiseUndAufenthalt (www)

Kindly be advised that a detailed business plan and a concept of how to finance the start-up will be needed. For assistance on putting together a convincing business plan and further information on important issues of the start-up procedure, please refer to the start-up portal of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology: www.existenzgruender.de

A general overview on the German business environment and issues like residence regulations, the tax and legal framework, etc., may be found in the Investment Guide to Germany of Germany Trade & Invest: www.gtai.de/Brochures/investment-guide-to-germany

However, kindly be informed that Germany Trade & Invest supports already existing foreign companies that wish to relocate their business operations to Germany. With regard to the actual formation procedure for start-up entrepreneurs, the local Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in the city of your choice is the first point of contact when intending to start your business in Germany. In an individual meeting, the IHK will be able to advise you on the required licenses, visa regulations, and so-called welcome packages that are available in the area: http://www.ihk-berlin.de
For further information and further IHK locations, please visit www.dihk.de/ihk-finder (www)
