Opening a company in Germany

Frage

I\'m an American citizen looking to open a company in Germany that deals with raw meat. Please send me any information you have and what forms I have to fill out along with fees. I was also needing to know how long this process will take.

Information on the setup procedure for business operations in Germany is available in the Investment Guide to Germany on our website at www.gtai.com/investment-guide (www) and the enclosed document "Investor’s Basics - Setting Up Business in Germany": www.gtai.de (www).

Kindly be advised that a detailed business plan and a concept of how to finance the start-up will be needed. For assistance on putting together a convincing business plan, please refer to the following link: www.existenzgruender.de.

With regard to the actual formation procedure, the local Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in the city of your choice is the first point of contact when intending to start your business in Germany. In an individual meeting, the IHK will be able to advise you on the required licenses, visa regulations, and so-called welcome packages that are available in the area. For further information and IHK locations, please visit: www.dihk.de/ihk-finder (www).
