My husband is US military and we are in Germany. I work from home and do consulting in the states. I will not have clients in Germany, only US. But people have told me, I need to register my business in Germany. Can someone verify this? Do I need to register my business? I only offer services, not products. And again - I will only be doing business in the United States - just my physical location is Germany on the military base.

Generally every person or company performing a business activity in Germany has to register the activity with the local trade office (Gewerbeamt / Ordnungsamt). Based on the information you have provided us with it is unfortunately not possible to assess if the planned activity is defined as a business activity or a so called liberal profession.
